GENERAL INFORMATION

TRANSPORTATION FOR DELEGATES Regular shuttle bus service will be provided to transport delegates between their hotels and the International Conference Center. This service will continue throughout the Summit. The schedule is attached to this Journal. |
SOUTH SUMMIT PROTOCOL OFFICE The Protocol Office for the South Summit is located in room 605 or 606 in the International Conference Center (phone: 283465 or 283466, internal extension: 605 or 606). The arrival and departure dates and airline flight numbers of Heads of State and Government and Heads of Delegation should be communicated to the Protocol Office. |
ACCREDITATION AND REGISTRATION Admission to the International Conference Center will require the showing of a security badge to be issued to delegates upon registration. To obtain this badge, which must be worn at all times, participants should contact the registration office as soon as possible after their arrival in Havana. Registration will take place daily between 9:00 and 21:00. Registration and accreditation of all participants in the Summit will take place in the Hall of Mirrors at the Julio Antonio Mella Workers’ Social Club, located on 5ta. Avenida, at the corner of 146th Street. A complete accreditation system has been established and includes security measures to guarantee maximum protection. |
INTERPRETATION Simultaneous interpretaion will be provided in Arabic, English, French and Spanish for all official meetings. During the working group meetings, interpretation will be subject to availability. During the general debate, should delegations wish to make their statements in a language other than one of the official languages of the Summit (Arabic, English, French and Spanish) they should advise the secretariat well in advance and provide interpretation into English. |
WORKING FACILITIES FOR DELEGATIONS At the Summit headquarters in the International Conference Center, a work room, opposite rooms 9 and 10, will be set up for shared use by delegations, equipped with such facilities as computers, printers and photocopiers. There will also be fax, Internet and e-mail services which can be booked and paid for in the room. Any delegates who require additional rooms for meetings should contact the Coordinator in the work room. |
OFFICES FOR BILATERAL MEETINGS Offices are available for bilateral meetings for Heads of State and Government and other Heads of Delegation. They are located in the presidential area. Should you wish to reserve an office, please contact the Coordinator in room 1406. |
DISTRIBUTION OF STATEMENTS DELIVERED DURING THE GENERAL DEBATE It would assist the interpreters if copies of statements to be delivered in plenary could be provided in advance to the Conference Room Officer assigned to each of the meeting rooms. Texts of statements delivered during the general debate which are remitted to the Conference Room Officer will be distributed in the conference room if sufficient copies are provided (minimum 250). If delegations wish to have their statements appear on the G77 website, they should provide an electronic version to the secretariat or send it by e-mail to G77OFF@UNDP.ORG |
DOCUMENTATION The provisional list of official documents for the South Summit is contaiined in document G-77/SS/2000/INF.1. Documents are issued in Arabic, English, French and Spanish. Additional copies of all official documents can be obtained at the Documents Distribution Desk (Information Desk no. 2) located in the Petit Foyer near rooms 4 and 7 starting at 10 a.m. |
FIRST AID AND HEALTH SERVICES The infirmary is located on the lower level of the International Conference Center. It will also provide emergency dentistry service. |
POSTAL, TELEPHONE, AND FACSIMILE SERVICES Postal service is available at the International Conference Center near the cafeteria for postal, telephone and facsimile services. |
LOST PROPERTY Enquiries regarding lost property within the International Conference Center should be addressed to the Information Desk no. 1 located in the Petit Foyer near room 3. |
