STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE GROUP OF 77 AND CHINA BY H.E. AMBASSADOR IBRAHIM MIRGHANI IBRAHIM, HEAD OF THE DELEGATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN, AT THE THIRD MEETING OF THE TENTH SESSION OF THE AD-HOC WORKING GROUP ON FURTHER COMMITMENTS FOR ANNEX I PARTIES UNDER THE KYOTO PROTOCOL (AWG-KP) (COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, 15 DECEMBER 2009) (Copenhagen, Denmark, 15 December 2009) |
Mr. Chairman,
At the closing session of this Committee, on behalf of Group of 77 and China I would like to thank you and your Co-Chair and Facilitators and the Secretariat for the great efforts all of you exerted for this Committee.
We all know that this text that you prepared, although with all efforts, there are issues which have to be tackled now by the high-level segment. But there are technical issues which we think can only be solved by the experts if they are given more time.
My final and very important message is that please support us in opposing any trials or attempts to kill the Kyoto Protocol. It is very dear to our Group and we believe it is very important for 80 percent of humanity, in particular, and even all humanity.
I thank you, Mr. Chairman.
