Impact: The project achieved advancements in genetic diversity and sustainable agricultural practices across Cuba, Panama, and Paraguay, focusing on the participatory selection and improvement of rice, soybean, and tomato genotypes. In Cuba, new varieties were successfully incorporated into production, enhancing yields and reducing environmental impacts through the use of biofertilizers and reduced chemical inputs. In Panama and Paraguay, the project initiated participatory selection methods in genetic improvement programmes. Overall, the project engaged a diverse group of stakeholders, including over 100 participants such as producers, researchers, technicians, and home managers, contributing to significant knowledge exchange and capacity building in all three countries.
